Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your local community? Do you want to use your skills and experience to help people find a way forward? Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts is looking for new Trustees, a Treasurer and Trainee Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of our vital service.
To ensure our board is reflective and representative of our local communities and workforce, we strongly encourage applications from under-represented communities. Currently we are particularly seeking to increase the involvement of people under the age of 35, people with a disability, people of colour and/or LGBT+ people on our Board.
By joining our Board, you’ll be part of a supportive team that shares a strong sense of purpose and values.
As a Trustee, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our charity is well-run, financially sound, and working effectively to support thousands of people across Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash and High Peak. Our Trustees are expected to attend 4 board meetings (held 4pm-6pm) and a minimum of 4 subcommittee meetings (timings vary) per year. You will be expected to join one of our three subcommittees: Finance, Human Resources or Service Delivery. Click here to view our Trustee recruitment pack.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with financial skills to take on the role of Treasurer; someone who can help oversee our financial strategy and reporting, and ensure we remain a sustainable and resilient organisation. The Treasurer will also be expected to Chair the Finance Subcommittee. Click here to view our Treasurer recruitment pack.
To build a board that truly reflects the diversity of the communities we serve, we’re introducing a Trainee Trustee Programme. This offers aspiring trustees the chance to “learn on the job” in a supportive environment. It’s designed for individuals who may not yet have board experience but are keen to get involved in governance, contribute their knowledge and perspectives, and gain new skills and experience.
