About us

Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts is a local charity that provides free, impartial, independent and confidential advice for everyone across Amber Valley, Chesterfield, Derbyshire Dales, Erewash and High Peak.

Our first office opened in 1939 and we’ve been tirelessly working across the local community to help people ever since – whoever they are and whatever their problem. From benefits, housing, employment and consumer to debt, relationships, energy costs and more.

Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide high quality advice and guidance face-to-face, over the phone and online to help you find a way forward.

As well as providing advice, we also campaign for change on policies and practices that affect people’s lives. We use our advice data to influence big organisations – from private companies right up to the government – on how they can make things better for people.

Our purpose, ambition and plans

Our governance and management

We are governed by our memorandum and articles of association and by 15 individuals that make up our board of trustees.

Details of our trustee appointments and our annual accounts are available here on the Companies House website.
